The 8th webinar, within our Building Safety Series with The British Property Federation (BPF) covered 'Implementing Solutions for Property Owners, Managers and Managing Agents.'
On the 9th of November 2022, The BPF and Ark hosted our 8th webinar within the Building Safety Series which had over 130 registrants. We focused on where Property Managers/Managing Agents sit in respect of accountability under the Building Safety Act 2022 and responsibility under the Fire Safety Order. The webinar considered practical examples on how Managing Agents can support Accountable Persons in meeting their obligations.
We had insights from David Hills and Peter Clark, Senior Directors at Ark and guest speaker Andrew Bulmer CEO at the Property Institute, regarding time scales on which both Managing Agents and Accountable Persons need to act, as well residence engagement.
We had some great questions including:
- How the complexity of determining accountability affects timelines for RMCs
- What information will be required to be provided or made available to residents and others
- How true engagement can be achieved when residents are reluctant
