Webinar: Ark and IWFM first partnership event on 'Structural Risk Management within the wider environment'

On 19th July 2023 Ark and the IWFM (Institute of Workplace Facilities Management) joined forces to deliver an engaging and informative webinar on 'Structural Risk Management within the wider environment.'

Structural Risk Management is an essential element within the Building Safety Act 2022 that is often missed or misunderstood. Ark’s Senior Director, David Hills, delivered an insightful presentation followed by a general discussion and panel session with Faithful + Gould's Associate Director, Wayne Ward and IWFM's Head of Policy Sofie Hooper.

The webinar delved into the following topics:

• Notable structural failures in buildings and their causes
• What is Structural Risk Management (SRM) and available guidance
• SRM and The Building Safety Act 2022 - including the need to consider structural risks within safety case reports
• What information would be useful in justifying structural risk management in high-risk buildings, and
• The need to include the on-going management of structural risks within the Building Safety Management System and the use of digital platforms to support this.
